Architecture RS17

Unobtrusive piece of jewellery

Intimacy and spaciousness united in a single architectural design. Harmonious. Soothing. High above Lake Constance, a residential property has been created with views stretching as far as the Swiss Alps – thoughtfully designed, with a personal touch. Imposing, yet understated. A gem that speaks for itself.

Traces that live on

The design is characterised by an honest approach to construction and production. Anchor points cast in concrete are reinterpreted – as tether rings for horses or garden taps. Nature, too, continues to leave its mark: patina and moss allow the façade to gradually blend into its surroundings, whilst the glass front reflects the changing moment.

Between closeness and distance

As you step further into the entrance hall, it quickly becomes clear that this is about more than just architecture. Two historic double doors from Berlin’s Haus Cumberland bring history to life. Behind them lies a spacious atrium where living and dining blend seamlessly with unobstructed views of the natural surroundings. Past and present come together here quite naturally. A spiral staircase, also from Cumberland, leads to the upper floor – and continues the interplay of intimacy, spaciousness and uncompromising aesthetics.
