Everyday school life is dynamic. That's why you need a signage system that grows with you - with the pupils, teachers and everyone who moves through the building every day. Our answer: purely typographic signage that blends organically into the architecture. No superfluous graphic elements, no visual sensory overload. Instead, clear lettering, unambiguous messages and a restrained aesthetic.
Orientation begins at the façade: lettering that blends in with the materials and colours of the architecture. It continues with the overview of the floors - well thought-out, simple, with a special focus on the transitions between the buildings. Glass panelling sets accents: it conveys the basic educational values of the school and provides protection at the same time. And then there is the signage system: from the outdoor area to the neuralgic orientation points to the individual rooms - a continuous narrative that guides the visitor intuitively.
Rupprecht Gymnasium is based on the ‘Lernhaus’ principle: small, manageable units that encourage collaborative learning. Our wayfinding system supports this approach. It creates clear structures that provide guidance and a sense of identity across the complex layout of the building – with its triple-span sports hall, outdoor sports facilities, ‘Lernhaus’ clusters and specialist classrooms – without imposing rigid boundaries. Guidance for those who are new. A familiar part of daily life for those who stay.
