BMW

The race track brought to the surface.

Vehicles, designs and prototypes that have made history: In the BMW Museum opposite BMW Welt in Munich, the brand from its beginnings to the present day becomes a first-class experience. Lively, multi-faceted and staged with attention to detail. This also applies to the touring car and motorbike racing rooms, which we were able to breathe new life into.

Ready, Set, Go!

Touring car racing is one of the most exciting forms of motorsport - for drivers and spectators alike. A unique atmosphere is created at every race. In intense races, fans can experience the thrill up close when the drivers push their cars to the limit of what is possible.

The world of touring cars

Here, cars, drivers and successes clearly take centre stage. To this end, the clean, minimalist architecture of the space remains and is complemented by racing elements. The racetrack, in the form of a sticker on the floor, runs like a red thread through the entire exhibition and accompanies visitors on their adrenaline-fuelled journey through the world of touring cars. These are waiting in the starting blocks on dark tarmac next to the racetrack, waiting to be discovered.

AR for winners

We are the Champions - inside and outside the BMW Museum. How does that work? With the help of AR filters. In this case, we have integrated several applications within the touring car room. Whether on the trophy wall, where trophies are explained in more detail, or directly on the vehicles. What's under the bonnet? Here, a racing car is scanned in 3D. The inner workings of the vehicles can thus be experienced virtually.

Adrenalin on two wheels

The Motorbike Room in the BMW Museum continues the successful exhibition of the Touring Car Room and is dedicated to the fascinating world of motorbike racing. The new staging gives the room a fresh look without interfering with the existing architecture. The design of the room is divided scenographically into three main categories that take up different facets of motorbike culture: Road Racing, Offroad and Speed Records.
